The initiative embedded evidence-based Lippincott Procedures within SJGHC&#8217;s Policy Library, creating a single source of truth for clinical proficiencies alongside locally governed policies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, hospitals maintained separate local procedure documents, creating duplication and governance burden. The integrated platform consolidated practice guidance, improved accessibility and aligned clinical procedures with education and competency frameworks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At go-live in October 2025, 25% of local procedure records were retired and sites adopted an average 69% of the Lippincott library. The project reduced administrative effort, strengthened governance assurance and supported consistent evidence-based care across diverse services nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-challenge\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SJGHC services maintained 1,089 locally authored nursing procedure records across hospitals and care settings. This decentralised model created duplication, inconsistent content quality and significant review workload for clinical educators and governance teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manual ownership at site level made it difficult to ensure procedures aligned with current evidence or national standards. Variations across sites reduced confidence in standardised care delivery and created inefficiencies in training and competency assessment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organisation needed a scalable way to reduce locally maintained content while preserving specialty flexibility. Integrating an evidence-based external procedure library within the existing policy governance framework offered a pathway to improve consistency, reduce administrative burden and align clinical procedures with learning and accreditation requirements across SJGHC&#8217;s national network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-approach\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SJGHC led a structured integration program through nursing leadership, quality and risk teams, educators and subject matter experts. Following a 60-day evaluation across 14 hospitals, sites committed to adopting Lippincott Procedures within MyPolicy Library. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Implementation involved mapping 1,089 local proficiencies against 287 Lippincott Procedures to determine retirement, replacement or retention. Standard templates, guidance sessions and comparative reviews supported consistent decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Policy Library platform was configured with site-specific access and A-Z navigation to embed procedures into workflows. Adoption and engagement were monitored post-go-live, with strong early usage across major sites. The initiative established a repeatable methodology for ongoing rationalisation and governance alignment of clinical procedures across the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-achievements-outcomes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Achievements \/ Outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The integration delivered measurable productivity and governance gains. A total of 203 local procedure records were retired (22.6% reduction), significantly reducing review and maintenance workload across 14 hospitals. Sites adopted an average 69% of the Lippincott library, expanding consistent evidence-based coverage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caregivers now access procedures within MyPolicy Library, improving point-of-care reference and alignment with Workday competency assessments. Early engagement data showed strong utilisation within weeks of launch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative strengthened confidence in clinical content accuracy and standardisation while preserving specialty flexibility for areas such as obstetrics and critical care.
