The lessons&nbsp;learned from&nbsp;a very simple&nbsp;start have been replicable across many industries, and the principles have proved sustainable. This talk traces a journey from the operating theatre at Great&nbsp;Ormond&nbsp;Street Hospital to the pit lanes of Ferrari, revealing how truth, trust and transparency can fundamentally improve patient safety.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1208533835?badge=0&amp;autopause=0&amp;player_id=0&amp;app_id=58479\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;\" title=\"Teams run on Trust: From Surgery to Formula One\"><\/iframe><\/div><script src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/api\/player.js\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key themes from the panel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Truth and trust as non-negotiable foundations.<\/strong>&nbsp;Effective care demands truth-telling, and the first and most important person to tell the truth to&nbsp;is&nbsp;yourself.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The true scale of team dependency&nbsp;revealed.<\/strong>&nbsp;A single&nbsp;paediatric&nbsp;cardiac operation required 29 people. If one of them&nbsp;hadn&#8217;t&nbsp;turned up, the job scheduled for three months could not have been done.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A four-fold reduction in errors.<\/strong>&nbsp;The team achieved a&nbsp;four times&nbsp;reduction in multiple errors, and many more individual errors were reduced.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Structured handovers&nbsp;replacing&nbsp;dangerous habits.<\/strong>&nbsp;The team learned to have a limited and structured conversation during critical patient transfers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Examine how lessons from Formula One have been applied across&nbsp;healthcare and other high-performing&nbsp;industries.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enduring&nbsp;relevance.<\/strong>&nbsp;The work is still relevant,&nbsp;being replicated, and hospitals continue visiting Ferrari to learn these principles.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rldatix.com\/en-uki\/connected-health-care-summit-2026-sessions-on-demand\/\">&lt;&lt;
