RLDatix Celebrates Patient Safety Awareness Week during Palooza 2024 | Connected Healthcare
RLDatix to host a patient safety panel during the main stage session of its annual user conference, Palooza, taking place in Orlando, FL.

March 10, 2024:

March 10-16 marks Patient Safety Awareness Week (PSAW), sponsored by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a time to recognize and celebrate the progress made in care delivery and advance discussions about the future of patient safety. This year's theme is Safer Together, emphasizing the critical role of safety across care teams, which aligns perfectly with RLDatix’s long-time vision of “safer healthcare for all.”

During PSAW 2024, which coincides with RLDatix’s annual user conference, Palooza 2024 | Connected Healthcare, RLDatix is hosting a patient safety panel, taking place on the main stage around 10AM ET on Wednesday, March 13. The panel, moderated by Dr. Tim McDonald, RLDatix’s Chief Patient Safety & Risk Officer, will explore the urgent need to prioritize patient safety and the impact of patient advocacy on care outcomes.

"Patient Safety Awareness Week is a unique opportunity for the broader healthcare community to come together to discuss progress and gaps in patient safety, share learnings and work toward a healthcare ecosystem that is both deeply empathic and continuously improving," said McDonald. "I'm honored to be joined by inspiring industry leaders for our panel discussion this week."

Panelists include:

  • Steve Burrows — Director, HBO documentary, “Bleed Out”

  • Colonel Steven L. Coffee — Co-founder, Patients for Patient Safety US

  • Rebecca Cady — Chief Risk Officer, Children’s National Health System and 2023 President, American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM)

  • Carole Hemmelgarn — Director of Clinical Quality, Safety & Leadership Executive Master’s Program, Georgetown University and Senior Director of Education, MedStar Institute for Quality & Safety
