Today, RL and Datix have embarked on a new journey to form one, combined company. This is a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to creating innovative software solutions and helping to improve patient outcomes. This will create the world’s largest software company focusing on patient safety and quality and enable us to help drive change across the global healthcare network.
This announcement is the realization of something we’ve known for quite some time; that by working as a team we have a unique opportunity to make an even greater impact in a rapidly changing healthcare environment. Together, we have over 300 passionate staff and more than 3,000 customers in 19 countries – and over 50 years of shared experience creating healthcare technology that works. Our combination will allow us to leverage our shared knowledge and provide more innovation, more solutions and more support for our clients worldwide.
As we embark on this venture, our shared values of excellence, integrity and humility will continue to guide how we conduct business. Together, we now hope to push the boundaries of patient safety and quality software to deliver solutions at greater scale and pace than ever before.
We are excited for what the future holds, but before all else we are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible. Why have you decided to combine companies?
Together, we have five decades of commitment and experience creating software solutions that support safety and quality in healthcare.
Both companies have worked hard to expand their business globally and drive product innovation on a continuous basis. In addition to bringing products to market faster, the joining of our companies will lead to more innovative solutions, enhanced services and support for clients, as well as delivery on a truly global scale.
When does the combining of the companies take effect?
The combination is pending final approvals which will be completed in the coming weeks. To ensure the most seamless transition, RL and Datix will continue to operate independently in the meantime, meaning that you will not notice any disruption of your support or sales services. We will review every function and look to combine at a rate and pace that makes sense and is responsive to the needs of our clients.
Who will be the head of the combined company?
After a brief transition period, Seyed Mortazavi, Datix’s current CEO, will take over chief executive duties of the combined company. Sanjay Malaviya, RL’s founder and current CEO, will become executive chairman of the board and will continue to play an active role in this next chapter. Our clients and staff are always our number one priority – Seyed and Sanjay are going to be working closely together to ensure the smoothest possible transition while ensuring that mission critical work continues to be delivered for clients around the world.

Will my software implementation still take place as planned?

Who do I call for account and support queries?
You will continue to work with the same RL and Datix team members that you always have. Your points of contact have not changed.
Will my software continue to be supported?
We will continue to offer and support both products sets. Over time we will look toward a unified product based on market requirements.
What does this mean for me as a prospective customer?
Any RL or Datix proposals that have already been sent out will be fully honored, and we will continue to be committed to doing right by all our customers – both current and future.
Does this announcement affect RL Palooza 2018?
There is no impact on RL Palooza 2018! The RL team is excited to see all registrants and their guests July 17 - 20 at the Disney Beach & Yacht Club for four days of education, networking and some Disney magic.
Can I still use RL HUB?
Of course! RL HUB will continue to be your place to connect with your peers, engage with RL staff and submit support cases.
How does this affect my services like Success Plans and Remote System Optimization?
All our services, including Success Plans and RSO haven't changed. You can continue to expect the same service you have always known, from the people you have always worked with. If you have any additional questions your Optimization Specialist is happy to answer them.
My organization wants to purchase licenses or software who do I contact?
To purchase additional products or licenses you can reach out to the RL sales representative that you’ve always worked with.
Does this announcement affect the Datix Patient Safety Conference in London in November?
No, we will still be hosting the conference as usual, open to all our Datix customers. We will be sending out registration details in the next few weeks.
Can I still use the Customer Portal?
Yes, our portal is still open for you to view and contribute towards Knowledge Base articles, see Tips and Tricks and submit support tickets.
How does this affect where I get my license keys from?
It doesn’t. Please contact your usual Datix team member for any account queries.
