Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) has selected RLDatix’s tailored safeguarding module as the preferred replacement for its existing safeguarding activity system.

BCHC provides a wide range of community health services for adults and children across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting patients across neighbourhood, clinic, home and specialist care settings. With safeguarding activity spanning multiple services and teams, maintaining clear oversight, governance and assurance processes is a critical part of supporting safe and effective care.

The Safeguarding team at BCHC record, monitor and report activity across the safeguarding framework to support process, assurance, governance and risk management across safeguarding adults and children services.

The Trust’s previous system, used for non-patient related safeguarding activity for more than a decade, no longer met current requirements due to its age and unsupported software.

Working alongside BCHC’s Risk Management team, the Trust selected RLDatix’s safeguarding module to provide a more robust and secure solution aligned with ongoing digital transformation ambitions across the NHS.

Statement from Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

“The Safeguarding team at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust record, monitor and report all of their activity within the safeguarding framework, to enable and support process, assurance, governance and risk mechanisms.

The system utilised for this for the elements of non-patient related activity has now been in place for over a decade, therefore due to its age and outdated software, it is no longer supported nor fully meets the needs of current requirements.

The team require a robust, secure replacement system, to ensure continued effective service oversight in safeguarding adults and children in our care, aligned with the organisation’s drive to harness advancing technology as part of the NHS 10 year plan for digital transformation.

With support from BCHC’s Risk Management team, RLDatix has been chosen as the preferred provider of the replacement in the form of their tailored safeguarding module.”
